Sometimes more is... more!

Fall is upon us.  And there is no better time to add some sparkle and pizzazz.  And sometimes more is just, well more!  My wardrobe consists of clothes that suggest that I lead a far more glamorous life than the one I actually live.  And, like many women, I live vicariously through my clothing.  A grey day shouldn't demand grey clothes: unless it has a spattering of silver sequins.  Everyone deserves a little sparkle in their lives.

In the olden days, sequins had their place. And their place was heavy holiday dresses, ballroom dancing competitions and basically everything Liberace owned. Then came Sex and the City, and sequins were downsized, lighter, and perfectly acceptable at brunch.

This season sequins are everywhere.  In London you see sequined tanks alone, or over a plain t-shirt, paired with skinny jeans.  Designer Diane von Furstenberg shows a racer back dress in pale lilac sequins and Dries Van Noten has a loose silver sequined tunic that is a show stopper.

Here at Speck Boutique we have in beautiful sequined tank t-shirts and tank dresses from G-lish by Glam.  These t-shirts are so versatile and go from dressy night to casual day wear.  The tank dresses are a great look alone, or under an oversized blazer or cardigan.  Layering on thick leather belt in a darker shade of brown grounds the piece and gives it an edgy look.   Toss on a slouchy leather boot for cooler weather and it is not only fun but functional.

It's an interesting effect: glamorous, but respectable. You can sparkle and shine your way through any fall day.
