For starters, here are a few pictures of last night's trunk show with Perfect PouchWear and the DTSB benefit for BEST (backstretch workers). It was fantastic to see so many people out in support of the event. A big thank you to Susan Brown for all her hard work. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I was busy and didn't think of it!
And now, unfortunately, I have a gripe. I read a blog that stated that "While offering some great clothes, a lot of the boutiques downtown can be pricey for an everyday shopper." Those are fighting words! The dresses shown above run from $69 - $89 dollars. Exactly what the MSRP is.
Last night we were playing Win Place & Show on the dice - saving the buyer anywhere from 10% - 30% off their purchase. We do our research when bringing lines into the store. They have to be unique (we are a boutique... if you want cookie cutter, mass produced items, then go to a box store). The item has to be affordable, and long lasting. Plus, we also look to be a business partner and support locally owned businesses.
That stereo-typical "expensive Saratoga store" thing does not apply to us, and does not apply to so many other stores up and down Broadway. Play me off keyboard cat.

I agree - it's too bad some people missed the point. Supporting our community and reaching shoppers who once thought that they couldn't shop downtown. This event and the last showed so many first time shoppers what the stores offer and guess what - they liked what they saw and were happy to see that the prices are reasonable. We have a mix - that what makes Saratoga special - shop it and find out what works for you!
